If you want a quick tour of Copenhagen this couple did it all in a couple of hours.  Sam is from America and Asya is Ukrainian.  They live in Prague and wanted to have a destination wedding in Copenhagen.  It is in fact it very easy to have a destination wedding in Copenhagen and many prefer to come here because the fees are low and the paperwork is relatively easy to get (provided you plan a little in advance. No, it is not Las Vegas and you can’t simply walk in and sign up.)

But the city provides an epic backdrop for your choice of weddings with fairytale castles, old buildings and beautiful parks. We started our day with portraits at the Kastellet.  It is an old fort in the shape of a five pointed star built in 1662.  We walked on the ramparts and took photos in front of the military barracks and the church. The old buildings were so colorful and really stood out against the start winter landscape.

After we were done it was time to head to the København’s Rådhus, or Copenhagen City hall.  We took the s-tog or S-Train, and had to stop for some quick photos inside the Hovedbanegård, or the Central Station. We then took the short walk to city hall for the ceremony.

After we walked to Torvehallerne and had cappuccino and sandwiches to warm up.   Asya and Sam were the perfect couple and braves the cold to get photos without coats.  It was truly a pleasure to work with them and one look speaks to how much they are in love.
